Projects & Testimonials
ANDAIR has been privileged to work with a number of companies and private customers to achieve their required data solutions. We have worked from very remote locations to semi-industrial areas inside Controlled Airspace and in close proximity to an international airport. Each project takes careful planning, from up to months in advance to just a few days for short notice requirements. The following are short summaries of recent projects ANDAIR has successfully completed and in recent cases are ongoing.
Landfill Mapping - Parafield, SA
Collaboration - The ANDAIR team worked in with the lead operators requirements for accurate mapping to be conducted at the site, which sits within 3nm of the Parafield GAAP Airport.
Our team and equipment flew to Adelaide and completed the work within 24hrs of arriving. Data was uploaded the next day to online servers.
Agriculture Mapping - Haden, Qld
Customer requirement - Various types of accurate mapping data, including Orthomosaic, NDVI and Contour modelling. Water, disease and weed analysis enabling ongoing agricultural support to a 400ha Cattle property. The farm location is within Oakey Army Aviation military restricted airspace.
The farm is being mapped by paddock, as an ongoing process with map data and analysis being fed back to the customer for their ongoing pastural and stock management.
Agriculture Mapping - Gingin, WA
Customer requirement - Various types of accurate mapping data, including Orthomosaic, NDVI and Contour modelling. Water, disease and weed analysis enabling ongoing agricultural support to a 80ha Olive Grove. The farm location is within RAAF Pearce military restricted airspace.
The grove is an ongoing process with map data and analysis being fed back to the customer on a monthly basis for their ongoing management of the olive grove.
Asset Inspection - Cairns, Qld
Customer requirement - Detailed inspection and high resolution photos to produce a 3D model of a pipeline over a tidal canal containing the potential of salt water crocodiles. To further complicate the situation the pipeline location is within 3nm of Cairns International Airport. As the pipeline is exposed to tidal conditions and this would affect our potential flying area, we needed to coordinate with the customer to conduct the flight at a low tide but also ensure the opportunity for a back up day if the wet season weather became a factor. A period of a few continuous days of the lowest tides was chosen, this also needed to suit the customer's timeline for completion of the job.
The ANDAIR team combined its professional experiences as Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots and Risk and Safety Managers to prepare a comprehensive package of documents for a Controlled Airspace approval with CASA. Once on site the team conducted a closer inspection of the site, using the opportunity to take detailed photographs of the site to supplement the planned aerial photographs. Raw data was handed over to the customer on the same day and several 3D models were created in the following days.
Orthomosaic Mapping & Realestate Photography - East Sale, Vic
Customer requirement - Medium resolution orthomosaic mapping and realestate aerial imagery of a 1ha semi-rural residential site in order to provide potential buyers an understanding of the geography and boundaries of the site and visually appealing aerial imagery of the property for advertising purposes. From flight to data delivery was 24hrs.
Orthomosaic Mapping - Dalby, Qld
Customer requirement - Accurate medium resolution orthomosaic mapping of a 132ha quarry site in order to assess the volumes of on site aggregate piles and overall site geography. The customer also required the data at relatively short notice, from date of first contact to the site flown was less than 2 weeks, thence from flight to data delivery was 36hrs.
Customer testimonial - "Thank you for your assistance with the Dalby Quarry Project. David and I were impressed with the way that you conducted yourself and your work outputs were top shelf. I wouldn’t hesitate to use ANDAIR again in the future for aerial imaging support." Ryan Marschke, Associate Director.
Customer requirement - Accurate medium resolution orthomosaic mapping of a 54ha mining lease in a remote location, approximately 50km west of Jundah in order to provide contour mapping of the site and accurately assess current exploration diggings. No mobile phone service, dirt roads and 4WD access required on site meant ANDAIR needed careful planning to reach the site in such a remote location and also operate drone software off line. To ensure a quality map was achieved, we flew a double-grid mission. We used known survey markers combined with our Propeller AeroPoints to achieve a high accuracy map. From flight to data delivery was 48hrs.
Customer testimonial - "The files / photography are great and have enabled various volume calculations to be completed. If further work is require we would not hesitate to approach you for a quote". John Siemon, Chairman/Acting Managing Director
Orthomosaic Mapping - Jundah, Qld
Orthomosaic Mapping - Toowoomba, Qld
Customer requirement - Accurate high resolution orthomosaic mapping of proposed 19ha industrial subdivision. The ANDAIR team assessed the customer location as within 3nm of the Toowoomba Airport (YTWB) and planning ensured the appropriate management of drone operations within critical flight paths at the airport, utilising a two man operation for piloting and safety observer/radio man. From flight to data delivery was 48hrs.
Customer testimonial - "I must say that I’m impressed by the level of detail contained in the data file, to the extent that we would more likely make use of the smaller dxf files for future projects, if only in order to speed up our software regeneration time. The larger files contain more 3D detail than we would require for most concept design". "I can see that we are likely to make use of these services in the future for these types of purposes, particularly given the relative costs and turnaround time to obtain the data". Brendan Reid, Civil Design Manager.
